Sweet Racy Eagle Holds On To Win Yellow Rose Fillies And Mares Stakes

Sweet Racy Eagle extended her winning streak to three Saturday afternoon with a victory in the $8,400 Yellow Rose Fillies and Mares Stakes at White Pine Racing.

Ridden by Jose Rodriguez, Sweet Racy Eagle broke sharply from post three and immediately took the lead. The four-year-old filly held her advantage to the wire to defeat Feisty Jo by a neck, completing 300 yards in :15.609 for an 88 speed index.

Sweet Racy Eagle is owned by RTM Stables LLC, Kevin Dunn and Bryon Goody and trained by Mark Hanson. Bred by Johnny Trotter, she is a $34,000 Heritage Place Yearling Sale graduate. The filly is sired by champion One Famous Eagle and out of champion One Sweet Racy ($387,423), by One Sweet Jess. One Sweet Racy is a half-sister to champion Miss Racy Jess ($485,113).

Winning her third consecutive start, Sweet Racy Eagle improved her record to 7-4-1-0 with earnings of $26,565. She also finished fourth in the Bitterroot Futurity (G3) and Hadley/Giles Futurity.

Feisty Jo crossed the wire in second under Jayden Ironeyes. The four-year-old filly raced just behind Sweet Racy Eagle throughout but was unable to gain on the winner, finishing a neck back in :15.627 for an 87 speed index.

Owned by Juan Valles and trained by Gilberto Canales, Feisty Jo was bred by Ubaldo Fuentes Jr. The $3,500 TQHA Yearling Sale graduate is sired by Jmf Danger Wagon and out of the Jodys Money Pop mare Fast Lady Jo. She has one win and two seconds from five starts with earnings of $13,521.

Shiza A Turbo finished third under Luis Zapien Jr. The four-year-old filly raced fourth early before improving to third and turning in a solid effort, crossing the wire three-quarters of a length behind the winner in :15.697 for an 85 speed index.

Owned and trained by Juan Ruiz, Shiza A Turbo was bred by Pedro Mena. She is sired by Glock and out of the Teller Cartel mare Line In The Night. She now has a record of 13-4-2-2 with earnings of $39,020.

Still seeking her first stakes victory, Shiza A Turbo finished fourth in last year's KC Carden Accredited Wyoming Bred Derby.

Hunny Moon finished fourth, followed by Go My First Doll and Hw Tellum Sweetly. Blow Ur Whistle was scratched.
