EDMONTON, ALB–MAY 24, 2025–It was a breakout moment for Starr Of The Show on Saturday afternoon, as the 3-year-old sorrel filly delivered a commanding performance in the $17,278 Maiden Express Stakes at Century Mile.
Facing older fillies and mares going 350 yards, Starr Of The Show took the lead at first call and never relinquished it, crossing the wire 1 1/2 lengths ahead of Hi Hopes in 18.705 seconds. Sent off at 4-1 odds under jockey Jesus Ambrocio, Starr Of The Show’s broke her maiden returning $8,249 (US), increasing her bankroll to $9,852 from seven starts.
Owned by Ralph Danard and Carrie Suitor, Starr Of The Show was purchased for $13,000 in this year’s Heritage Place Winter Mixed Sale. Bred in New Mexico by Pierre J. and Leslie A. Amestoy, she is out of Jess a Blazin, a daughter of Chicks a Blazin.
