Six Royal Debits Fastest Qualifier For NDQHRA Northern Plains Futurity Saturday

FARGO, ND–JULY 12, 2024–Six Royal Debits broke her maiden today while posting the fastest qualifying time for the NDQHRA Northern Plains Futurity at the North Dakota Horse Park in Fargo.

The ten fastest qualifiers will return to the horse park on Saturday, July 27, to vie for the winner's share of a $25,000-est. purse.

In a furious late rally under jockey Rey Hernandez, Six Royal Debits completed the 350-yard task in 18.135 seconds, a 91-speed index into a 10 mph crosswind. It was the first win in two starts for the daughter of multiple stakes sire Louisiana Jambalaya.

Francisco Estrada trains the Texas-bred filly for owner Bill Geditz, Jr. Bred by Christopher Tyre, from the Sixes Royal mare Six Debits, Six Royal Debits earned $2,000 for this trial win.

Wheelie Smokin also won her first race of the year in the second trial while recording the third-fastest clocking of 18.254 seconds, an 88-speed index with no wind. Mallory Norton trains the daughter of multiple stakes sire Famous Painted One for owner Steve Leonard.

Scott Bethke had the riding call aboard the Darrel Smith North Dakota, bred out of Your Wagons A Winner by Paintyourownwagon.
