Sheza Poly Scores In Cassia County Fair Futurity

Sheza Poly broke on top and never relinquished the lead Saturday afternoon to win the $6,100 Cassia County Fair Futurity.

Ridden by Jose Arriola-Serrano, Sheza Poly quickly established the advantage and held off a late effort from Decorated Heroine to win by a half-length. The two-year-old filly completed the 250 yards in :13.323 for a 95 speed index.

Sheza Poly is a homebred for Jose Pulido and is trained by Ramiro Fregoso. She is sired by Concorde's Appeal TB and out of the Tac It Like A Man mare Sheza Tacy Gator.

The victory improved Sheza Poly's record to 5-2-1-1 with earnings of $6,985.

Decorated Heroine crossed the wire in second under Jesus Afanador. The filly raced just behind the winner before making a late effort, finishing a half-length back in :13.389 for a 92 speed index.

Owned by Brandon Madrigal and trained by Gilberto Madrigal, Decorated Heroine was bred by Bob Moore Farms LLC and is a $9,500 Heritage Place Yearling Sale graduate. She is sired by champion sire Valiant Hero and out of the stakes-winning PYC Paint Your Wagon mare Painted Sable.

Decorated Heroine is a half-sister to Pocatello Downs Juvenile Challenge winner Sables Dashin ($84,583), while her female family includes champions Black Sable ($271,592) and Uncas ($398,504). She now has a record of 6-1-2-0 with earnings of $7,925.

El Dorion finished third under Luis Delgado. The colt raced third before producing a late surge, completing the distance in :13.606 for an 83 speed index.

Owned and bred by Fidel Sedano and trained by Farrol Cunningham, El Dorion is sired by Banded Badon and out of the Jess Got Easier mare Dh Easy Cash. He now has a record of 8-0-1-2 with earnings of $2,815 and was a finalist in the Roche Equine Veterinary Services Futurity earlier this season.

Am Sweet Dash finished fourth, followed by Stake Thru Fire and Bw Little Wagon.
