Sheza Fearless Eagle Scored Fourth Career Win In The $253,150 Valley Junction Futurity [G3]

ALTOONA, IA–SEPTEMBER 27, 2024–Jill Cook's Sheza Fearless Eagle gets her first stakes victory from five starts in the $253,150 Valley Junction Futurity [G3] on Friday at Prairie Meadows.

Ridden by Jorge Torres, Sheza Fearless Eagle edged her way in for a neck victory over post-time favorite and fastest qualifier from the trials Flashin Dynamite. The daughter of One Fabulous Eagle clocked a 102-speed index in 17.333 seconds, and the 350-yard slight upset paid $12.00 to win on 5-1 odds.

Except for the Heritage Place trials, where she placed third, Sheza Fearless Eagle has won four of her five career starts. She broke her maiden at Remington Park and won an Allowance and her trial heat at Prairie Meadow.

Owner Jill Cook said, "I was so excited that she got a good break and just came right in. This is really a thrill. She was in the Heritage Place Futurity trials and got wiped out; otherwise, she's been a winner."

Trained by Fernando Manriquez-Garay, Sheza Fearless Eagle earned $113,917 for the win, increasing her bankroll to $140,032.

"She's got speed, and Fernando's done a great job with her. It's just been fun," commented Jill.

Jill bred Sheza Fearless Eagle in partnership with Vaughn Cook in Colorado. The sorrel filly is out of Ima Fearless Fire by Tres Seis.

Flashin Dynamite, ridden by Alfredo Triana Jr, finished second 1 1/4 lengths ahead of Perry Political and rider Miguel Ramirez, who captured the show.

Trainer Manuel Campos saddle Flashin Dynamite for owner David Morehead, who purchased her for $30,000 in last year's Heritage Place Yearling Sale. Wallace Johnson bred her in Oklahoma out of Swingin Cartel by Corona Cartel.

Flashin Dynamite has lit the board every out from four starts with three wins and $63,237 in earnings. She was sired by First Moonflash.

Bred by Flag Ranch in Oklahoma, Perry Political is out of the Tres Seis mare Miss Perrys Tres. The daughter of Apolitical Jess has a record of 2-2-2 from seven starts and earned $49,486 for owner Corey Wilmes. Trainer Edward Ross Hardy conditions her.

Rainbow Of Diamonds, Catchn Southern Rays, Flying Bandida, Happy Wagon, Apollitical Seis, I Know You Know, and Valiant Candy Tree complete the order of finish.
