AJAX, ONT–SEPTEMBER 11, 2024–Runaway Fate bounced off a fourth-place effort in the August 21 trials to break her maiden in the $43,434(US) Ontario Sires Stakes Futurity Wednesday afternoon at Ajax Downs.

Good late energy under jockey Rachael Isaacs propelled the 2-year-old son of Peight Your Fate to a neck win over Niigaanii. The fastest qualifier, First For You, exchanged bumps early and finished a neck back to get third in a blanket finish.

Runaway Fate raced over the 330 yards in 17.203 seconds, recording an 87-speed index with a 6 mph tailwind. The $17,734(US) winner's purse boosted her earnings to $29,547.

Bob Broadstock trains the bay gelding for owner-breeder Heste Sport Inc. Runaway Fate is out of Runaway Cause by Ocean Runaway.

Also, by Peighnt Your Fate, Niigaanii put in a game effort under jockey Tony Phillips to earn $8,688(US) for second. John McInerney conditions the homebred out of Sheza Fast Mom by Heza Fast Dash for owner-breeder Sarah Wincikaby.

First For You made it a trifecta for his sire Peighnt Your Fate when he picked up $4,344(US) for third. Jockey Alexis Sanchez had the riding call on the bay filly for trainer Lauren Spada. Craig Spada and Risk Crispi are the owners. Richard Wincikaby bred First For You from the Corona Cartel mare First Down The Track.

Peighntmeadiamond, Elvis The Famous, Last Cold Bud (DH), The Batmann (DH), Miss Silky Magic, and Towanda completed the field.

Peighnt Your Fate, a multiple Grade 1 finalist by leading sire Pyc Paint Your Wagon, sired four qualifiers for the Ontario Sires Stakes Futurity. He is a first-crop sire in 2024.
