Rtm Ginsburg Flies Home In Red, White And Blue Jeans Quarter Horse Maturity

Rtm Ginsburg flew from the outside post and drew clear Saturday afternoon to win the $5,000 Red, White and Blue Jeans Quarter Horse Maturity (not black type) at the Eastern Idaho State Fair.

Ridden by Never T. Marin for trainer Mark Hanson, Rtm Ginsburg completed the 350 yards in :17.825, earning a 95 speed index over a fast racing surface.

The 6-year-old gelding defeated Flippinfast by 1 3/4 lengths, with Bw Just A Ruger another three-quarters of a length back in third. Conditions were clear with no wind reported.

The victory was worth $2,750 for owner RTM Stables LLC. Bred in Idaho by Susan T. Hanson, Rtm Ginsburg is a gray son of champion sire First Moonflash from the Chickie Cherry Cola mare Rtm Say Your Prayers. The veteran has now won nine of 27 career starts with four seconds and four thirds while earning $66,730.

His stakes résumé includes victories in the Idaho Bred Maturity and Red, White and Blue Jeans Quarter Horse Maturity, along with a third-place finish in the Emerald Downs Championship Challenge.

Flippinfast broke alertly and turned in a game effort under jockey Brayan Juarez to earn $1,250 for his runner-up finish. Kayla Warren trains the 4-year-old gelding for owner and breeder Neale Edwards. Flippinfast is by multiple stakes sire Rite Favorite from Daddies Darlin, by Big Daddy Cartel. With Saturday's effort added to his previous statistics, Flippinfast has compiled a 23-3-4-5 record and earnings of $53,180. He was also third in the New Mexico State Fair Juvenile.

Bw Just A Ruger picked up $750 for third under jockey Jesus Flores. Glen T. Jamison trains the 5-year-old mare for owner Maria E. Baltodano. Bred by Thomas Boyd and Betty Weeks, Bw Just A Ruger is by multiple stakes sire Justified from Bw Robins Lark, by Ettaduino. She has won 10 of 31 starts, with eight seconds and eight thirds, while earning $48,051. Her career accomplishments include a victory in the Oneida County Mixed Breed Derby.

Rtm Ginsburg was sent away as the 7-5 favorite and returned $4.80 to win. The race carried a guaranteed $5,000 purse for Quarter Horses, Paints or Appaloosas, 3-year-olds and older, with Idaho-breds preferred.

Also-rans were Rtm My Turn, El Treen, and Leo Dash.
