Rollin Candy Dynasty Gets First Stakes Victory In Grade 2 Lovington Stakes

HOBBS, NM–DECEMBER 15, 2024–Rollin Candy Dynasty, a 3-year-old son of four-time world champion sire FDD Dynasty, got his first career stakes win at Zia Park Sunday when he defeated Bout Ta Learn Yall by a head in the Grade 2 $100,000 Lovington Stakes.

Rollin Candy Dynasty, under jockey Sergio Becerra, Jr., dueled early, then held off a challenger while completing the 400 yards in 19.102 seconds, a 104-speed index into a 10 mph headwind.

Marco Flores trains the Oklahoma-bred gelding for owner AA Farms, LLC. Bred by PV Quarter Horse Farms, LLC, from the Pyc Paint Your Wagon mare Roll On Candy Wagon, Rollin Candy Dynasty has won five of 11 career starts. The $57,600 Lovington winner's purse boosted Rollin Candy Dynasty's earnings to $167,771.

The royally-bred Bout Ta Learn Yall earned $19,200 for second. Trainer Martin Orona, Sr. named jockey Jesse Levario to ride the son of leading sire Apollitical Jess for owner Francisco Navarrete. McColee Land & Livestock LLC bred the 3-year-old gelding in Utah from the First Down Dash mare Aquafina, a sister to champions Ocean Runaway and Wave Carver. Bout Ta Learn Yall has earned nearly $70,000 in 13 career starts.

Last year's Lovington Stakes(G2) winner, Fdd Cloud, finished a half-length back to earn $9,600 for third. Jockey Jose Enriquez had the riding call aboard the graded stakes winning son of Fdd Going Grand for owner Aurelio Juarez and trainer Omar Vargas. Mercy Hinklins Horse Farm, LLC. Bred the $304,193 earner in Texas from the Jess Elie mare A Noble Jess Elie.

Rollin Candy Dynasty returned $12.40 to win, $7.20 to place, and $4.40 to show. Bout To Learn Yall paid $8.40 to place and $4.80 to show. Fdd Cloud returned $3.60 to show.

As Moonflash, Arlie, Defours, Cartel Superstar, Uncle Eds Idea, Buymyladyacorona and Bourbon Colored Man completed the field.
