Rollin Candy Dynasty Gets First Stakes Victory In Grade 2 Lovington Stakes
HOBBS, NM–DECEMBER 15, 2024–Rollin Candy Dynasty, a 3-year-old son of four-time world champion sire FDD Dynasty, got his first career stakes win at Zia Park Sunday when he defeated Bout Ta Learn Yall by a head in the Grade 2 $100,000 Lovington Stakes.
Rollin Candy Dynasty, under jockey Sergio Becerra, Jr., dueled early, then held off a challenger while completing the 400 yards in 19.102 seconds, a 104-speed index into a 10 mph headwind.
Marco Flores trains the Oklahoma-bred gelding for owner AA Farms, LLC. Bred by PV Quarter Horse Farms, LLC, from the Pyc Paint Your Wagon mare Roll On Candy Wagon, Rollin Candy Dynasty has won five of 11 career starts. The $57,600 Lovington winner's purse boosted Rollin Candy Dynasty's earnings to $167,771.
The royally-bred Bout Ta Learn Yall earned $19,200 for second. Trainer Martin Orona, Sr. named jockey Jesse Levario to ride the son of leading sire Apollitical Jess for owner Francisco Navarrete. Last year's Lovington Stakes(G2) winner, Fdd Cloud, finished a half-length back to earn $9,600 for third.
