Rlh Fouronthefloor Breaks Through in Sweetwater Downs Maturity Consolation

After knocking on the door throughout the season, Rlh Fouronthefloor got his trip to the stakes winner’s circle Sunday afternoon, capturing the $25,000 Sweetwater Downs Maturity Consolation Stakes (not black type) at Sweetwater Downs.

The 6-year-old gelding ran down the early leader to win the 400-yard event by three-quarters of a length. Ridden by Jesus Canales, Rlh Fouronthefloor stopped the clock in :20.005 for an 89 speed index over a fast track with a 12 mph crosswind.

Breaking from post two as the even favorite, Rlh Fouronthefloor came away third before accelerating and taking command. He returned $4.60 to win and collected the $12,500 winner's share of the purse.

The victory was a well-earned one for Rlh Fouronthefloor after several stakes attempts this season. He finished second in both the 307 Horse Racing Opening Maturity and Pocatello Downs Spring Championship Stakes and was a finalist in the Brad McKinzie Winter Championship Stakes (G1) and Blane Schvaneveldt Stakes.

Sunday's win marked the third career stakes victory for Rlh Fouronthefloor and improved his record to nine wins, five seconds and two thirds from 23 starts with $114,095 in career earnings.

Sergio Canales trains Rlh Fouronthefloor for owner Michael McKell. Bred by R L Harrison, the Idaho-bred son of Jess Got Easier is out of Sp Saint Patty by Saint Shackleton.

A Famous Ribbon finished well to grab second after taking a light bump at the start. The 7-year-old gelding crossed the wire three-quarters of a length behind the winner in :20.139, earning an 86 speed index under jockey Damion Marinelarena.

A three-time stakes winner, A Famous Ribbon also finished third in the 307 Horse Racing Open Maturity earlier this season. The veteran has won 10 of 25 career starts with three seconds and three thirds while earning $222,424.

Jorge Paredes trains A Famous Ribbon for owner Adrian Aleman. Bred by Weetona Stanley, the son of One Famous Eagle is out of Fast Prize Ribbon by Corona Cartel.

Ivorybudsnblossoms jumped out to the early lead from the inside before giving way late and finishing third, three-quarters of a length behind A Famous Ribbon. David Alvarez Jr. rode the 5-year-old gelding, who completed the distance in :20.250.

A stakes winner earlier in his career and a multiple black type earner, Ivorybudsnblossoms has four wins, seven seconds and four thirds from 23 starts with earnings of $123,859.

Owned by Eugene T. Joyce and trained by Josh Taylor, Ivorybudsnblossoms was bred by Brooke Black. He is by Ivory James out of the One Famous Eagle mare One Famous Blossom.

King Eye Am and Lights Out Riggy completed the order of finish.
