Rj Having Fun Scored Fourth Career Stakes Victory In $100,000 Rainbow QH Invitational Saturday

RUIDOSO DOWNS, NM–JULY 27, 2024–Multiple graded stakes winner Rj Having Fun added the $100,000 Rainbow Quarter Horse Invitational Stakes to his resume on Saturday when he defeated Mitey Relentless by a neck. Top Cowboy was 1-1/4 lengths back to take third.

Ridden by jockey Juan Pulido, Rj Having Fun vied throughout to finish the 440 yards in 21.453 seconds, a 91-speed index into a 5 mph headwind. It was the seventh win in 13 career starts for the son of leading third-crop sire Pyc Fun N Fancy. The $45,529 Rainbow winner's purse boosted the gray geldings earnings to more than $410,000.

Owned and trained by Toby Keeton, Rj Having Fun was bred in Oklahoma by Rito Sosa. Out of the This Snow Is Royal mare Snow Clouds, Rj Having Fun won the Remington Park Derby(RG1) in April and the Dash For Cash Futurity(G2) and Rainbow QH Juvenile last season.

Runner-up Mitey Relentless earned $19,512 for his second-place effort. Tony Sedillo named jockey Luis Martinez to ride the Hes Relentless gelding for owners Scott Branson and Jimmy Vasquez. Debra Lana bred the $127,312 earner in New Mexico from the First Moonflash mare Mitey Moon.

Top Cowboy, a Flying Cowboy 123 gelding owned by Rodrigo Gonzalez and Leviram Racing LLC, earned $10,840 for third. Jockey Jose Enriquez had the riding call for trainer Eric Valenzuela. Tyler and Naia Graham bred Top Cowboy in Texas from the Pyc Paint Your Wagon mare Paradice City.

Nori, Ziggys Cartel, Corruptor, and Yippee Ki Yey completed the field.
