Post-time Favorite Sheza Bye Bye Rallies To Win $139,647 Delta Downs Louisiana Bred Oaks

VINTON, LA–JULY 13, 2024–Post-time favorite Sheza Bye Bye rallied under jockey Eleazar Hernandez to defeat graded stakes winner One Sweet Sugar by half-a-length in the $139,647 Delta Downs Louisiana Bred Oaks Saturday night at Delta Downs.

Sheza Bye Bye got her best stride late to score her first career stakes victory. The daughter of Hezadashinbye clocked the 400 yards in 19.948 seconds on a muddy (sealed) race course to equal a 92-speed index.

Trainer Leonel Hernandez saddled the homebred to her fourth career win in 11 starts for owner-breeder Israel Flores. Second in the Delta Dash last month, Sheza Bye Bye earned $69,823 to more than double her earnings to $125,754. She is out of the thoroughbred mare Madam Maggie by My Friend Max.

Multiple graded stakes winner One Sweet Sugar picked up $23,740 for second. Jeremy Derozin trains last year's Lee Berwick Futurity(RG1) and Lassie Futurity(RG2) winner for owner-breeder Rogelio Marquez, Jr. Jasiel Aquino rode the One Sweet Jess filly out of Sugarshaker B by Heza Fast Dash. She has banked more than $604,000.

Jm Texas Blood finished another half-length back to earn $13,965 for third. Jose Sanchez trains the Apollitical Blood daughter for owner Francisco Urteaga. Arturo Alvarez rode the multiple stakes-placed filly out of Amending The Bar by Five Bar Cartel.

Prom Queen Nr, Freightless, Moonin Princess, Jp La Fresita, Apollitical Kate, Separate Em Fast, and MP Adorned completed the field.
