Perrys Last Trick Prevails In G.C.F.A. All Breeds 870 Stakes

FREDRICKSBURG, TX—AUGUST 24, 2024—Perrys Last Trick dueled all the way in a big effort to defeat Ghost Bear by a head in the $20,000 G.C.F.A. All Breeds 870 Stakes Saturday evening at the Gillespie County Fairground.

Jockey Humberto Vital guided the 4-year-old over the 870 yards in 46.236 seconds, equaling a 92-speed index into an 8 mph crosswind.

Owner-trainer Manuel Roman saddled the son of Perry Tee Chick to his third career win in 21 starts. The $12,000 winner's purse boosted his bankroll to $37,573. Shoe L Inc. bred the brown gelding in New Mexico from the Favorite Trick (TB) mare Bella Tricks.

Stakes winner Ghost Bear earned $4,000 for this second-place effort under jockey Raul Hernandez, Jr. Arnold Lewis conditions the son of Phantom Menace for owner Sarah Huskey. Sandra Garnett bred the 7-year-old in Texas from the Intimidator (TB) mare Loose Play (TB). He has earned over $142,00.

Pevs Kiote Moon, under jockey Froylan Ramirez, finished 2-1/4 lengths back to pick up $2,000 for third. Owned and trained by Riley Aguilar, the son of champion Moonin, The Eagle is out of Ima Pyc China Doll by Pyc Paint Your Wagon. Gordon Pevehouse bred the gelding in Oklahoma. He is a stakes-placed earner of $30,802.

My Famous, Music Dash, Anzio, and Jd Zoom Zoom Zoom completed the field.
