Painted Turnpike Sires 1-2-3 In The PSBA American Paint Classic Futurity [G1] With Pretty Lil Poison

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK–MAY 2, 2025–APHAworld champion Painted Turnpike sires the top three finalists in the $125,650 PSBA American Paint Classic Futurity [G1] on Friday at Remington Park. Fastest qualifier from the trials, Pretty Lil Poison, was favored to win and didn’t disappoint as she crossed the wire with a 1/2-length to spare for the victory.
Jockey Francisco Calderon returned for the mount aboard Pretty Lil Poison, and the duo set sail second out of the gates. Assisted by a six mph tailwind, the duo got stronger as they ran toward the finish line. They took the lead at the final stretch, crossing the wire in 16.576 seconds for a 96 speed index. The 333-yard effort paid $5.60 for the win.
The $48,904 winner’s share of the purse boosted Pretty Lil Poison’s lifetime earnings to $77,052 and improved her record to 2-1-1 from four starts. She recently earned a third-place finish in the Oklahoma Paint Futurity [G1], behind Turbulent, who placed third in tonight’s Futurity final under jockey Roman Cruz.
Matt Whitekiller bred, owns, and trains Pretty Lil Poison in Oklahoma. The daughter of APHA world champion Painted Turnpike is out of Miss Fly On Tac by Tac It Like A Man.
Turnpike Jammer, ridden by Erik Esqueda, ran in tandem with Pretty Lil Poison but was outfinished for second. Trainer Ray Enlow saddled the gray colt out of Mammy Jammer by Crm Livewire for owners Carla Akers and Randy Perkins.
Roy Kent Perkins bred Turnpike Jammer in Texas. He has yet to break maiden from four starts with $30,556 in the bank.
Alexia Willis bred third-place finisher Turbulent in Oklahoma from the Sf Royal Quick Flash mare Turbulence. Trained by Dee Keener, the sorrel filly has earned $101,206 with two wins from four starts for owner 918 Bloodstock, including the Oklahoma Paint Futurity [G1] in March.
Slingshot Engaged, Kj All Of The Marbles, Livewires Apollo, Veing Queen, Gigis Gucci Glasses, Wl Post Malone, and Pt Got A Filly complete the field.
