Night Fury Takes The Win In A Duel To The Finish In The Poor Boy All Breed Futurity

MALAD, ID–AUGUST 4, 2024–Heavy favorite Night Fury dueled for the win and got it by a neck on Sunday in the $5,500 Poor Boy All Breed Futurity (not black type) at Oneida County Fair.

Jockey Never Marin piloted Night Fury to the 300-yard victory in :15.893 seconds on a fast track and clocked an 83 speed index. The winning effort paid $2.20 on a $2.00 wager.

Coming off a sixth-place finish in the Energy Downs 307 Open Futurity in June, Night Fury gets his second win from five starts, and the $3,300 winner's share increased his earnings to $11,400.

Dan Topham bred the son of Pappasito in Utah out of the Apollo mare Apollos Darlin. Conrado Gonzalez owns and trains Night Fury.

Trainer Martin Vega saddled jockey Oscar Villa aboard runner-up Exempttonn. The daughter of Kvn Corona has yet to break her from four starts for owner Thomas Anderberg. Butch Webb bred the gray filly in Colorado out of Immortality by Chicks Regard.

Third-place finisher Cb Docs Bella Terra, who was ridden by Santiago Jimenez, remains a maiden from four starts. Matt Carter Larsen conditions the daughter of Docs Best Card for owner Win The Day Racing, Inc. She was bred in California by Jose Casillas out of the Dominyun mare Bella Terra.

Jj Easter Bug, ridden by Jesus Flores, placed fourth and Dash O Flash, with Raphael Romero in the irons, completed the order of finish in fifth.
