Mr Dash Fire Best In $26,000 Dolls Prodigy Stakes on Arapahoe Park Meet Opener

AURORA, CO—SEPTEMBER 6, 2024—Bouncing off a fourth-place effort in the Grade 2 Mr Jet Moore Stakes at The Downs at Albuquerque in his last start, Mr Dash Fire was a one-length winner in the $26,000 Dolls Prodigy Stakes on Friday at Arapahoe Park.

Bumped at the start, Mr Dash Fire drifted out under jockey Martin Lazalde while completing the 300 yards in 17.620 seconds, equaling a 104-speed index into a 7 mph headwind.

Trainer Hipolito Michel-Valverde saddled the Colorado homebred to his sixth career win in 19 starts for owner-breeder Felipe Pena. The 5-year-old son of Dash Kicker is out of Lovin M Leave M by Separatist. The $15,600 Dolls Prodigy winner's purse increased his earnings to $102,847.

Runner-up Pyc Fancy Cartel earned $5,200 for this second-place effort under jockey Cristian Aguirre-Erives. Trainer-breeder Edy Ontiveros saddled the 4-year-old son of multiple stakes sire Pyc Fun N Fancy for owner La Despedida Racing LLC. Pyc Fancy Cartel was bred in Colorado from the Corona Cartel mare Kimbo Cartel. He has earned $57,821.

Ross Alire's homebred Jess No Secrets finished a neck back to earn $2,600 for third. Trainer Rick Scudder named jockey Cerapio Figueroa to ride the No Secrets Here 5-year-old out Jess Breeze by Feature Mr Jess. The multiple stakes-placed gelding has banked over $45,000.
