Miss Fancy Nancy Cruises to Victory in CTM Princess Stakes

EDMONTON, AB–MAY 24, 2025—In a swift display of speed and class, Miss Fancy Nancy surged to a commanding three-length victory in the $15,437(US) CTM Princess Stakes at Century Mile, asserting herself as one of Alberta's most promising sprinting fillies.

Bred and owned by Barry and Janice Sather, the 4-year-old brown filly by multiple stakes sire Big Lew out of Singles Cruise by Favorite Cartel broke alertly from the gate and never looked back.

With J. Ambrocio Medina aboard and trained by Misael Moreno, Miss Fancy Nancy covered the 350 yards in 18.105 seconds over a fast track.

The win earned her $8,182(US), boosting her seasonal earnings to $76,195 and adding a stakes win to an already polished résumé.

Finishing second was veteran mare She Wears the Pantz, a 6-year-old gray daughter of multiple stakes sire Seperate Interest owned by Calvin Crosschild and trained by H. Wippert Jr.. Ridden by D. Garcia, she closed late to secure the runner-up check of $4,014(US).

Fabulous Show Off, a 3-year-old brown filly by multiple stakes sire One Fabulous Eagle out of Singles Cruise by Favorite Cartel, delivered a respectable performance to finish third. Bred and owned by Barry and Janice Sather of Alberta, she is trained by Misael Moreno and was ridden by Daniel Tavares. For her third-place effort, Fabulous Show Off earned $1,852(US) for the effort.

At the windows, heavy favorite Miss Fancy Nancy paid $2.20 to win, $2.10 to place, and $2.10 to show. Runner-up She Wears the Pantz returned $3.70 to place and $2.50 to show, while Fabulous Show Off paid $3.90 to show.

Ms Clara, Not Easy Being Me, and Pretty Sweet Jess completed the field.
