Miss Chilitos Cruises To G.C.F.A. Paint & Appaloosa Juvenile Victory

Miss Chilitos turned in a commanding performance Saturday to win the $40,500 G.C.F.A. Paint & Appaloosa Juvenile at Gillespie County Fair.

Ridden by Oliver Martinez, Miss Chilitos overcame a hard bump and quickly took command of the 330-yard event. The favorite pulled clear to win by 1 1/2 lengths in :16.705, earning a 104 speed index.

Oscar Nunez trains Miss Chilitos for owner Edgar Rivera Hernandez. Bred in Texas by Connie Nobles, the $13,500 TQHA Yearling Sale graduate is sired by Chilitos and out of the Stoli mare Tahiti Evening. She now has a record of 8-4-0-2, and the $15,390 winner's share boosted her career earnings to $65,828. Miss Chilitos previously finished third in the Colors of Houston Futurity (G2).

Muy Piscosita EG finished second under Ali Rivera for owner Jesus Vasquez Luna and trainer Oscar Nunez. The filly turned in a strong effort, crossing the wire in :16.936. Bred by Eduardo Galindo, she is sired by Chilitos and out of the Dominyun mare Katnis. She now has a record of 4-1-2-1 with earnings of $20,600.

Limited Jesse and jockey Francisco Calderon finished third for owners TYKHE Racing LLC and El Patron Stables LLC and trainer Romeo Mireles. Despite being sandwiched during the race, the gelding finished three-quarters of a length behind Muy Piscosita EG in :17.082. Bred by Dennis Schilling, the $8,200 TQHA Yearling Sale graduate is sired by Chilitos and out of the Dos Poruno mare Iamababydolltoo. He now has a record of 5-2-0-1 with earnings of $25,344. Limited Jesse was a finalist in the Oklahoma Paint & Appaloosa Futurity (G1).

El Chato, This Cowboys An Eagle, Gv Double Doc Dash, Cowboys Success, Star 94, Riohot and Vp Silver Rose completed the order of finish.
