Milagro Lady Flies Late To Win Miss Quick Stakes At Eastern Idaho State Fair

Milagro Lady rallied late to capture the $5,000 Miss Quick Stakes (not black type) on Friday at the Eastern Idaho State Fair.

Ridden by Scott Bethke for trainer Kayla Warren, Milagro Lady overcame Sheknowsshesmokn’s early advantage and got up by a neck at the wire. The 6-year-old mare completed the 350 yards in :17.480, earning a 105 speed index.

Owned by Neale Edwards, Milagro Lady was bred by R. Stratton and S. & N. Edwards. The New Mexico-bred daughter of Rite Favorite is out of the Jesse James Jr mare Ping Pong Patty.

Milagro Lady improved her career record to 43-9-6-7 with $238,728 in earnings. Earlier this season, she placed third in the Pen Pal Stakes. Her career accomplishments are highlighted by a victory in the New Mexico Fillies and Mares Championship Stakes (G1).

Sheknowsshesmokn held on for second under Brayan Juarez for owner/breeder Edward Jamison and trainer Glen Jamison. The 4-year-old daughter of Daguerre, out of the Jumpn mare Smokn Mirrors, now owns a record of 22-4-10-5 with $34,864 in earnings. She placed third in the Idaho Cup Derby last year.

Stablemate Bw Just A Ruger finished third under Jesus Flores for owner Maria Baltodano and trainer Glen Jamison. Bred by Thomas Boyd and Betty Weeks, the 5-year-old mare is by Justified and out of the Ettaduino mare Bw Robins Lark. She has compiled a record of 30-10-8-7 with earnings of $47,301 and won the 2024 Oneida County Mixed Breed Derby.

Sweet Racy Eagle, Ms Clara and Bdr Cassandra completed the order of finish.
