M E Verystablegenius Crushes Competion By Daylight In The In Memory of Misty Stakes
MALAD, ID–AUGUST 4, 2024–M E Verystablegenius flew from the gates and led the five-horse field to an incredible three-length wire-to-wire victory in the $11,250 In Memory of Misty Stakes (non black type race for two-year-olds) at Oneida County Fair on Sunday.
Rodolfo Arvizu piloted M E Verystablegenius to victory in 15.858 seconds, clocking an 85 speed index. The son of Kvn Corona finished three lengths ahead of A Sweet Chick and jockey Rene Robles. Princess Bird, ridden by Jose Lopez, was a close third. M E Verystablegenius's 300-yard finish paid $2.40 to win.
The $6,750 payday for the M E Verystablegenius' victory increased his career earnings to $15,252 and improved his record to 3-2-1 from seven starts. Earlier this season, the Jarrett Mills trained gelding won the Idaho Cup Futurity Consolation, placed third in the Roche Equine Veterinary Services Futurity, and was a finalist in the Bitterroot Juvenile Invitational.
Dave Merritt and Kim Newman bred and own M E Verystablegenius in Idaho. He is out of the One Sweet Jess mare Kool Sweet Jess.
Trainer Sergio Reyes conditions runner-up A Sweet Chick for owner-breeder Cristobal Ramirez. The daughter of One Sweet Jess has yet to break her maiden from five starts and has $2,813 in the bank. She was bred in Idaho out of the Favorite Cartel mare, Another Chicklet.
Third-place finisher Princess Bird has earned $3,948 for owner-breeder Jose De La Luz Zuniga. The Juan Hernandez trained filly is sired by First Down Money and out of the Hes Relentless mare Relentless Bird.
Precious One, ridden by Santiago Jimenez, placed fourth, followed by More About Larry and rider Oscar Villa in fifth.
