Kiss My White Socks Breaks Maiden In North Star Quarter Horse Futurity
SHAKOPEE, MN—JUNE 6, 2024—Starting off a pair of sharp maiden outings at Remington Park, Kiss My White Socks broke his maiden Thursday night at Canterbury Park while winning the $23,000 North Star Futurity for accredited Minnesota-Bred juveniles.
Ridden by jockey Alfredo Triana, Jr., Kiss My White Socks kicked clear quickly and then cruised to a 1-1/2 length victory. The son of leading 2-year-old Kiss My Hocks clocked 16.060 seconds for the 300 yards.
Trainer Patrick Swan conditions the homebred gelding for owner-breeder Daniel Kjorsvik. Bred from the thoroughbred mare Holy White Socks by Polished Brass, Kiss My White Socks earned $11,011 to boost his earnings total to $14,389.
Runner-up Jjs Sweet And Sassy gained late under jockey Eugenio Navarrete, Jr., to get $4,160 for second. Tyler Stein saddled the One Valiant Hero filly for owner Jerry Olson. Breeder Jerry Oxner bred Jjs Sweet And Sassy from the One Sweet Jess mare April Is Special. It was the filly's first career start.
L Conejo dueled but gave way under jockey Fernando Fonseca-Soto to pick up $2,447 for third. Haley N. Hobbs owns and trains the One Sweet Jess gelding out of Bunny Run Now by I Want It Now. Jaqueline Moreno is the breeder.
Relentless Deal, Shez Got Rhythm, Nova Wagon, and Dashing Muy Macha completed the field. Da Lie Lah was scratched after getting loose in the saddling paddock and returning the barn.
