Kevins Knockout Best In Blanket Finish To $18,000 Don Pedro Dash

EVANSTON, WY–JULY 28, 2024–Only noses separated the first five horses crossing the wire in today's $18,000 Don Pedro Dash at Wyoming Downs, but the one that counted was winner Kevins Knockout.

Ridden by jockey Jesus Canales, Kevins Knockout completed the 100-yard dash in 6.424 seconds, equaling a 101 speed index. It was the third win in 11 starts for the daughter of leading third-crop sire Kvn Corona.

Sergio Canales trains the Utah-bred for owner Keith W. Nellesen. McColee Land & Livestock LLC bred the brown filly from the First Down Dash mare Aquafina. Today, the $10,800 winner's purse boosted Kevins Knockout's earnings to $37,913.

Runner-up Game For Corona Hot earned $3,600 for her second-place effort. Ricardo Robles conditions the daughter Salt Point Bay for RR Racing Stables. Ricardo Del Cid had the riding call aboard the Wyoming bred from the Game Patriot mare Passtheflower. Raul and Luis Caballero bred the $40,516 runner.

Charm, owned and trained by Lynn McNeely, earned $1,800 for third. Nakia Teeter rode the 4-year-old Louisiana-bred filly. Jumonville Farms bred the Hez Fast As Cash filly from Grace Filled Charm by Feature Mr Jess.

Ud Goldenboy, Pappajeto, Ms Flaming Finish, The Eagle Way, Fiddle Faddle Foose, Gg Ocean King, and Yo Morning Delite completed the field.
