JT Midlife Crisis Dominates $455,310 Dash For Cash Futurity (G2) at Lone Star Park

JT Midlife Crisis continued his outstanding freshman campaign Saturday night with a commanding one-length victory in the $455,310 Dash For Cash Futurity (G2) at Lone Star Park, collecting the $195,784 winner's share and recording his sixth victory in seven career starts.

Ridden by Roman Cruz for trainer Marla Dayana Vargas, the Oklahoma-bred son of third-crop sire Tell Cartel overcame a slight bobble at the start before taking command and holding his rivals clear throughout the 400-yard championship.

The sorrel gelding stopped the clock in 19.433 seconds, earning a 99 speed index while racing into a seven-mph headwind over a fast track.

Owned by Cuadra Ladrilleros, Ltd. Co., JT Midlife Crisis was bred in Oklahoma by Jeffrey Allen Tyer from the Real Visions mare Wranglers Vision.

The victory boosted his career record to six wins from seven starts and increased his lifetime earnings to $305,882. The talented gelding previously captured the Speedhorse Futurity (G3) and was a finalist in the Easy Jet Stakes (G2).

JT Midlife Crisis entered Saturday's championship off a winning performance in the September 19 trials and was sent away as the 2-1 second choice. He returned $6.00 to win.

BV Hit the Road Jack finished a clear second, one length behind the winner, earning $77,403 for owner Jose Vizcarra Arana.

The two-year-old gelding, trained by Carlos Cruz Lopez and ridden by Gilberto Linares, is a son of second-crop sire Dulce Sin Tacha from the Pyc Paint Your Wagon mare Pyc Darlin.

Bred by Bella Vista Farms LLC, BV Hit the Road Jack was a $75,000 purchase at the 2025 Heritage Place Yearling Sale.

Saturday's runner-up effort improved his career record to two wins, two seconds, and one third from five starts, increasing his lifetime earnings to $95,105.

Natural Flyin Cowboy completed the trifecta, finishing another length behind the runner-up and holding third by a neck over Kiss Me Ina Flash. The gelding earned $45,531 for owner Maria Gonzalez.

Trained by Oscar Nunez and ridden byOliver E. Martinez, Natural Flyin Cowboy is a son of leading sire Flying Cowboy 123 from the Furyofthewind mare Just Another Natural.

Bred in Texas by Louis A. Malechek III, the gelding was purchased for $50,000 at the 2025 TQHA Yearling Sale.

Natural Flyin Cowboy entered the Dash For Cash Futurity following a runner-up finish in the TQHA Sale Futurity (RG1) and a finalist appearance in the Texas Breeders' Futurity.

His third-place finish Saturday improved his career record to two wins, two seconds, and one third from six starts, boosting his lifetime earnings to $224,822.

Kiss Me Ina Flash finished fourth, followed by El Rey de Chilitos in fifth, Staggeringcowboy in sixth, Not Tonite Cowboy in seventh, Jet Two Is Armed in eighth, and RJ Black Beauty in ninth. Hott For Chicks was scratched.
