JJ Jessa Dynasty Holds On To Win EVD Dash Stakes

OPELOUSAS, LA—October 3, 2026

JJ Jessa Dynasty captured the $20,000 EVD Dash Stakes at Evangeline Downs on October 3.

Ridden by Randy Edison Jr., the 4-year-old filly went to the front from the inside post and held off Jess Joseph M by a head at the wire. She completed the 250 yards in :13.312. The victory earned her the $12,000 winner’s share of the purse.

JJ Jessa Dynasty is owned by Jorge Alan Bazaldua and Jose Carrizales, who also trains the filly. Bred by J & J Stables LLC, she is by JJ Jess An Meteorite and out of the FDD Dynasty mare JB Chic Dynasty.

She improved her record to 31-8-7-7 with earnings of $131,898. Earlier this season, JJ Jessa Dynasty finished second in the Miss Polly Classic Stakes (G3) and third in the Mothers Day Stakes.

Jess Joseph M and jockey Rolando Cabrera finished second for owner Ricardo Mendoza and trainer Salvador Flores. Bred by Russell and Joseph Mowad, the 4-year-old gelding is a $4,700 LQHBA Yearling Sale graduate. He is by Jess Different and out of the Dashin Bye mare Syrianas Song.

Jess Joseph M now owns a record of 21-3-6-4 with earnings of $98,097. Still in search of his first stakes victory, he has finished third in both the Nag Nest Stakes and Louisiana Champions Day Derby (G3).

LM President Cartel crossed the wire third under Eddi Martinez for owner, breeder and trainer Luis Martinez Jr. The 3-year-old gelding is by The Louisiana Cartel and out of the Red Storm Cat mare Delightful Cat.

LM President Cartel now has a record of 11-3-2-2 with earnings of $65,580. Earlier this season, he finished second in the Nag Nest Stakes. Last year, he was a finalist in the Desaix Stakes.

Carry On Moon finished fourth, followed by NBC Mr Booz and The Blood Rose.
