Jess Checkem Out Tops WABRA Wyoming Bred Derby Qualifiers

Six trials were contested for the $75,000-added WABRA Wyoming Bred Derby on Sept. 5 at Sweetwater Downs, with Jess Checkem Out posting the fastest qualifying time.

Jess Checkem Out topped the qualifiers after winning the fourth trial under jockey Jose Juan Olivo. The Jorge Garfias trainee drew clear to win by a length while covering 400 yards in :19.735.

A homebred for Robert Fox, Jess Checkem Out is sired by Jess Paint Me and out of the Winners Version mare Check Em Out Joy.

The gelding now has a record of 15-2-4-1 with $23,233 in earnings. He was previously a finalist in the Ron Cook Accredited Wyoming Bred Futurity.

Miss Pollys Train finished second behind Jess Checkem Out to post the second-fastest qualifying time of :19.876 under jockey David Alvarez Jr.

The Josh Taylor trainee is a homebred for Bill Doenz and is sired by Freighttrain B out of the Apollitical Jess mare Political Bedlam.

Coming off a victory in the Seedskadee Overnight Stakes, Miss Pollys Train has compiled a record of 13-5-3-2 with $69,761 in earnings.

Earlier this season, she finished fourth in the KC Carden Wyoming Bred Derby. Last year, she ran third in the QABRA Wyoming Bred Futurity.

My Dynasty won the fifth trial to record the third-fastest qualifying time of :20.010 under jockey Mynor Arana. Owned and trained by Jose Rivas Guzman, the filly has a record of 14-4-2-2 with earnings of $37,979.

She entered the trials off a finalist effort in the Seedskadee Overnight Stakes.

Bred by Robert B. Fox, My Dynasty is sired by Jr Dynasty Mountain and out of the Gonamakeyoureyesblue mare Cryin Eyes.

The $75,000-added WABRA Wyoming Bred Derby final is scheduled for Sept. 19 at Sweetwater Downs.
