Jess A Dash Of Class Leads WABRA Wyoming Bred Maturity Qualifiers

Four-time stakes winner Jess A Dash Of Class posted the fastest qualifying time Sunday from four trials for the $50,000-added WABRA Wyoming Bred Quarter Horse Maturity at Sweetwater Downs.

Thirty-four accredited Wyoming-bred older horses competed over 400 yards for one of 10 spots in the September 20 final.

Jess A Dash Of Class defeated Yo Morning Delite by one-half length in the fourth and final trial, stopping the timer in :19.735 for the fastest qualifying time. The 4-year-old filly broke sharply under jockey Jose Juan Olivo before edging clear late.

Kylie Valenzuela trains Jess A Dash Of Class for owner Lori Nebeker. Ron and Laurie Moosman bred the daughter of Jess Paint Me from Steffiesclassic Dash, by Winners Version, in Wyoming.

Jess A Dash Of Class has won 10 of 20 career starts with four seconds and two thirds while earning $244,179. Her four stakes victories include the WABRA Wyoming Bred Futurity and WABRA Wyoming Bred Derby.

The veteran filly has continued to add to her stakes record this season, winning the 307HR Wyoming Bred Classic Stakes. She also finished second in the Energy Downs 307 F&M Stakes and Isawssugarbear Stakes and was a finalist in Raysha's Run-Racing For A Cure Stakes.

Defending WABRA Wyoming Bred Maturity champion Er Mountain X recorded the second-fastest qualifying time with a one-length victory in the second trial. The 5-year-old horse completed the 400 yards in :19.798 under jockey David Alvarez Jr.

Ross Brown trains Er Mountain X for Brown and Elsha McGarry. Brown and McGarry also bred the son of Jr Dynasty Mountain from Ud Midnight Peach, by Perrywithrhythm, in Wyoming.

Er Mountain X has won five of 19 career starts and earned $61,766. In addition to winning last year's WABRA Wyoming Bred Maturity, he finished second in the Uinta County Accredited Wyoming Bred Maturity and was a finalist in the 307HR Open Maturity this season.

Eight-time stakes winner Yo Morning Delite finished one-half length behind Jess A Dash Of Class in the final trial to record the third-fastest qualifying time of :19.810.

The 6-year-old gelding, winner of the 2024 WABRA Wyoming Bred Maturity, has won 19 of 38 career starts with five seconds and three thirds while earning $254,826.

Jess R. Matt trains Yo Morning Delite for owner and breeder Gerald F. Kaul. Jacob Cardenas rode the Wyoming-bred son of Brindis Por Cayenne from Rs Afternoon Delite, by Southern Corona.

Although still looking for his first victory of 2026, Yo Morning Delite has finished second in the Uinta County Accredited Wyoming Bred Maturity and Energy Downs Stakes and was a finalist in the 307HR Wyoming Bred Classic Stakes this season.
