Impressive Three Length Victory For Bg Winning Legacy In The Cassia County P&A Futurity

BURLEY, ID–AUGUST 17, 2024–Bg Winning Legacy (ApHC) is no stranger to the winner's circle. The heavy favorite made his fourth trip from five starts in the $8,400 Cassia County Fair Paint & Appaloosa Futurity (not black type) at Cassia County Fair on Saturday.

Jockey Eric Ayala piloted Bg Winning Legacy to his third stakes win this season in :13.185 seconds, clocking a 102 speed index with the assistance of a ten mph tailwind. The son of Winners Version started from the gates in sixth, but by the final stretch he was three-lengths ahead of the competition. The 250-yard victory paid $3.40 to win on 4-5 odds.

The $4,368 payday increased his lifetime earnings to $16,758 for owner-trainer Darric Grant. The only loss the Idaho-bred gelding has had is a second-place finish in the Harvest Cup P&A Futurity to stablemate Bg Vroom Vroom Broom. But he redeemed himself with the win over his stablemate, who placed second under jockey Raphael Ramero in tonight's stakes.

Bg Winning Legacy is out of Cmb A Final Legacy by Geneo JJ and Bg Vroom Vroom Broom, also bred by Grant, is out of Brooms Cash by Takin The Cash.

Bg Vroom Vroom Brook is sired by The Louisiana Cartel and the multiple winner has earned $11,334.

Trainer Glen Jamison saddled third-place finisher Kj Royal Blue for owners-breeders Kent and Judy Taylor. The son of Blue Oyster Cult has yet to break his maiden. He is out of Kj Rosie by Geneo JJ.

Ivory Moon, Ivoryquest and Kj With Honors complete the field.
