Ima Fancy Ace Gets Third Career Victory In The North Dakota Horse Park Futurity

FARGO, ND–AUGUST 4, 2024–Im A Fancy Ace bested the field of eight on Sunday in the $10,000 North Dakota Horse Park Futurity (not black type), a 350-yard race for two-year-old mixed breeds.

With an eight mph crosswind, jockey Jimmy Brooks piloted Im A Fancy Ace up the inside rail to a 1/2-length victory over Ac Giddyupgo and rider Kannet Gutierrez. The son of Im A Fancy Pyc clocked a 96 speed index in :17.979 seconds, and the first place finish paid $8.20 to win on 3-1odds.

22-1 longshot Ac Giddyupgo was determined on the outside, placing second by 3/4-lengths over post-time favorite Six Royal Debits and jockey Rey Hernandez.

Trainer Mallory Norton saddled Im A Fancy Ace for owner-breeder Alyssa Niewiadomski. The Texas-bred gelding out of Cf Ohares Return by High Rate Of Return has three wins from five starts, and the $4,500 Futurity payday boosted his earnings to $18,919.

Ac Giddyupgo broke his maiden in the North Dakota Bred Futurity trial but has yet to win again. The son of Six Figure Sixes placed eighth in this year's Rusty Wilson Memorial Futurity and has earned $5,904 from seven starts.

Trainer Mark Allery owns Ac Giddyupgo in partnership with John Bercier. Michael Groce bred the gray gelding in North Dakota out of Dolla Daze by Chicks Regard.

Conditioned by Francisco Estrada, Six Royal Debits has lit the board three of four starts with one win and $9,515 in the bank. The daughter of Louisiana Jambalaya placed second in the NDQHRA Northern Plains Futurity last week.

Breeder Christopher Tye repurchased Six Royal Debits for $5,200 in the 2023 Heritage Place Winter Mixed Sale. Bill Geditz, Jr. owns the Texas-bred filly out of Six Debits by Sixes Royal.
