Hes A Jet One Scores Second Consecutive Stakes Victory WIth Dr. Glenn Blodgett at Lone Star Park
GRAND PRAIRIE, TX–SEPTEMBER 7, 2024–Starting off a win in the restricted Grade 2 TQHA Classic Stakes in his last start on July 26, Hes A Jet One surged to a nose win in the $56,000 Dr. Glenn Blodgett Stakes on Saturday at Lone Star Park.
Under jockey Ali Rivera, Hes A Jet One dueled from the outside post to stop the clock in 17.526 seconds, a 98-speed index with an 11 mph tailwind for 350 yards. John Stinebaugh saddled the Ec Jet One 4-year-old to his seventh career win in 21 starts.
Owned and bred for Pete Scarmardo, Hes A Jet One was a finalist in the Grade 1 All American Derby and Grade 1 Texas Classic Derby last year. He was also second in the Grade 2 Hobbs Derby Invitational.
Bred from the Swingin Jess mare Shez Dead Serious, the $35,280 Blodgett prize increased the gelding overall earnings to over $204,000.
Multiple stakes-placed Pink Kiss earned $9,520 for finishing second. Juan Diaz, Jr. trains the 4-year-old daughter of leading sire Kiss My Hocks for owner Heavy Hitters Racing Stables. Bullard Farms bred the $220,124 earner in Texas from the Jet Cartel mare Pink Cartel. Victor Urieta, Jr., had the riding call.
You Look Famous, a 5-year-old daughter of One Famous Eagle, finished three-quarters back to earn $5,600 for third. Daniel Garcia trains the filly out of Mi Angela by Jet Black Patriot for Dash Mastter Jess Partnership. Noe Villatoro rode the $101,474 stakes winner.
Jess Star Struck, Jess The Leader, and Kartendo Fast Dash completed the field.
