Had To Be Fabulous Stays Perfect at 3-for-3, Sets Top Mark In Ontario Bred Futurity at Ajax Downs

AJAX, ONT–JULY 17, 2024–QROOI Bonus Futurity winner Had To Be Fabulous kept her record a perfect 3-for-3 today when she posted the fastest qualifying time for the Ontario Bred Futurity at Ajax Downs.

The 10 fastest qualifiers will return on Wednesday, July 31, to vie for the winner's share of a $55,000 (CAN)-added purse going 300 yards.

Confidently handled by jockey Josh Scott, Had To Be Fabulous completed the 300 yard task in 15.820 seconds into a 10 mph headwind to establish the fastest trial time. It was the third consecutive win in as many starts for the daughter of multiple stakes sire One Fabulous Eagle.

Bryn Robertson conditions the home bred for owner-breeders Carol and Jaime Robertson. Out of the Had To Be Nuts mare Had To Be Fandango, Had To Be Fabulous has banked $19,134.

After a sluggish start Elvis The Famous won the second trial under jockey Josh Scott by half-a-length to post the fourth fastest qualifying time of 16.041 seconds into a 10-mph headwind.

Also, from the Robertson barn and owned by Carol and Jaime Robertson, Elvis The Famous broke his maiden in third attempt. Bred by Amelie Aubut from Dm Classic Rock, by Dm Selexus, the gray gelding was fifth in the QROOI Bonus Futurity in his last start.

Ajax Downs will host a special Sunday event day this weekend, July 21 - the annual Craft Beer and Cider Day.
