Gfr Prairie Rose Wins The $15,000 South Dakota Bred Futurity In A Photo Finish

FORT PIERRE, SD–OCTOBER 5, 2024–Gfr Prairie Rose wins the nod over post-time favorite Dash Up Dynasty for a photo-finish victory in the $15,000 South Dakota Bred Futurity on Saturday at Fort Pierre.

With a 20 mph tailwind, Gfr Prairie Rose clocked a 96 speed index in 13.410 seconds under the guidance of Travis Cunningham. The Big Daddy Cartel filly lead the field of four from wire-to-wire, winning by a nose. The 250-yard victory paid $6.20 to win.

Luis Maldonado piloted Dash Up Dynasty to second 1 1/4-lengths ahead of Teras Eagle, ridden by Dakota Wood. So Dom Famous, with George Pineda in the irons, followed the three leaders in to complete the order of finish.

The $7,500 victory money boosted Gfr Prairie Rose's bankroll to $16,335 and improved her record to two wins from five starts. Gene and Faye Reaves bred the Condon Schuyler trained filly out of Gone All In by Tres Seis.

Robert Don Johnson saddled runner-up Dash Up Dynasty for owners-breeder Double H Quarter Horses, LLC. The son of Sky Rumble just broke his maiden in his last out from seven starts and has earned $12,190. He is out of the Corona Up mare Dash Up Corona.

Trainer Skip Moody conditions Teras Eagle and So Dom Famous, who are both sired by Eagle Deluxe, for owner-breeder Skip Kahle.

Teras Eagle has one win from eight starts with $6,360 in earnings. The the son of bay gelding is out of Mt Cruzin by Feature Mr Bojangles. So Dom Famous has yet to break his maiden and is out of Dominican by Bodacious Dash.
