Getit Foose Dominates $15,549(US) Grand Prairie Distance Stakes
GRANDE PRAIRIE, ALB–AUGUST 18, 2024–Multiple stakes winner Getit Foose got it done in the $15,549(US) Grand Prairie Distance Stakes at Grand Prairie at Evergreen Park today.
Ridden by jockey Jose Racha, Getit Foose battled Northfork Boss over the 660 yards before drawing away off the turn to easily win by 3-1/4 lengths. His clocking of 35.079 seconds equals a 92-speed index with a 15 mph crosswind.
Trainer William Leech saddled the 7-year-old son of champion Foose to his ninth career win for owner Jerry Stojan.
Bred in California by Martha F. Wells, from the Separatist mare Getit Together, Getit Foose picked up $8,241(US) to increase his earnings to $82,215.
Runner-up Northfork Boss earned $4,043(US) for his second-place effort. Buckey A. Stockwell trains the 4-year-old son of third-crop sire Jd Wagon Boss for himself and Glenn Willis and Delton Gehring. Willis bred the graded stakes winner of $91,225 in Alberta from the Spanish Boot mare Northfork Babe.
Shes Just Rippin, a daughter of the thoroughbred stallion Balmont, finished 2-1/2 lengths back to earn $1,866(US) for third. Darcy Smith trains the 4-year-old filly for owner-breeder Dan Byrne. She was bred in Alberta from the Mezoomn mare Zomins Not An Issue. Laurina Bugeaud had the riding call.
Ss Pineapple and Shamoura completed the field. Mountain Night Train was scratched.
