Game For Tarzan Plays Best In $200,000-est. Wyoming Downs Futurity Trials

EVANSTON, WY–JULY 28, 2024–Game For Tarzan bounced off a troubled effort in his last start to post the fastest qualifying time for the Wyoming Downs Futurity on Sunday at Wyoming Downs.

The 10 fastest qualifiers from 11 trial races contested today will return to the Evanston racetrack on Sunday, August 11, to vie for the winner's share of a $200,000-est. purse going a distance of 350 yards.

Following an off-the-board finish in the $125,000 Energy Downs 307 Futurity on June 30, Game For Tarzan would not be denied today as jockey Ricardo Del Cid rode the 2-year-old colt to a one-length victory in the sixth trial race. His 17.421 clocking, equaling 98 speed index with a 12 mph tailwind, was the fastest of the day.

Diana Garfias trains the Wyoming-bred son of second-crop sire Tarzanito for owner Triple G Racing LLC. A two-time winner in four starts, Game For Tarzan was bred by Robicheaux Ranch from the Game Patriot mare Ms Patriot Awe. He has banked $10,625.

Jess A Dash Of Class, was a 1-1/4 length winner in the 10th trial to get the second fastest clocking of 17.541 seconds, a 95-speed index with a 15 mph crosswind. Trainer Kylie Valenzuela named jockey Jesus Valenzuela to ride the daughter of Jess Paint Me for owner Andrea and Eddie Jensen.

Ron and Laurie Moosman bred Jess A Dash Of Class in Wyoming from the Winners Version mare Steffiesclassic Dash. The sorrel filly has won two of four starts.
