Flying Fire Leads Jason Olmstead-Trained Trifecta In $30,000 Valley Junction Juvenile

Flying Fire surged late to capture the $30,000 Valley Junction Juvenile Stakes on Friday at Prairie Meadows, leading a sweep of the top three finishing positions for trainer Jason Olmstead.

Ridden by Ryder Olmstead, Flying Fire rallied from off the pace to prevail by a neck over Im A Boujee Chick. She covered the 350 yards in :17.827, earning an 86 speed index over a sloppy, sealed track. Jes A Midnight Event finished another head back in third.

A homebred for Bryan Hawk, Flying Fire earned $9,300 for the victory. The Oklahoma-bred filly is by Flying Cowboy 123, out of the Walk Thru Fire mare Rfancy Fire.

The victory improved Flying Fire’s record to three wins and three seconds from seven starts, with earnings of $73,229. She won the FL Lady Bug Stakes (G3) in May and was also a finalist in the Prairie Meadows Gold Futurity earlier this season.

Im A Boujee Chick crossed the wire second under Armando Alvidrez for owner and breeder Chase This Chick Syndicate and trainer Jason Olmstead. The filly is by Im A Fancy Pyc, out of the Country Chicks Man mare Chase This Chick.

Still in search of her first stakes victory, Im A Boujee Chick now has four seconds and two thirds from seven starts, with earnings of $20,979. Earlier this season, she finished second in the Prairie Meadows Gold Juvenile Stakes.

Jes A Midnight Event and jockey Ramiro Garcia finished third for owner/breeder Brenda Reiswig and trainer Jason Olmstead. The gelding is by Apollitical Jess, out of the Ivory James mare Midnight Sunlight.

Jes A Midnight Event now has a record of one win and one third from six starts, with earnings of $13,982.

Be Iconic, Nsm B24, Rr Illegal Cash, Bad N Bougie 123, One Fabulous Dixie, Rr Shenoshesfirst and Fire Blood completed the order of finish.
