Flashin Dynamite Remains Undefeated In Three Starts, Sets Top Mark For Valley Junction Futurity

ALTOONA, IA—SEPTEMBER 8, 2024—David Morehead's Flashin Dynamite raced to her third win in as many starts today while posting the fastest qualifying time for the Valley Junction Futurity at Prairie Meadows.

The 10 fastest qualifiers, from six trials contested over 350 yards, will return to the Iowa racetrack on Friday, September 27, to vie for the winner's share of a $253,150 purse.

A $30,000 Heritage Place September Yearling Sale graduate, Flashin Dynamite and jockey Alfredo Triana, Jr. completed the 350-yard task in 17.550 seconds, equaling a 94-speed index with a 5 mph tailwind. She quickly pulled away from the field to win by 2-1/4 lengths.

Trainer Manuel Campos saddled the daughter of champion First Moonflash from the Corona Cartel mare Swingin Cartel. The chestnut filly broke her maiden in her career debut, a trial for the Prairie Meadows Gold Futurity, but failed to qualify. She returned on July 21 to win a $14,500 Prairie Meadows allowance race.

Bred in Oklahoma by Wallace Johnson, Flashin Dynamite has earned $17,670.

Sheza Fearless Eagle, a $16,000 Heritage Place Yearling Sale repurchase for owner-breeder Jill Cook, got her third career win in the fourth trial to set the second fastest clocking of 17.558 seconds, also a 94-speed index with a 5 mph tailwind.

Ivan Manriquez-Garay trains the One Fabulous Eagle filly bred in Colorado by Jill and her late husband Vaughn Cook from the Tres Seis mare Ima Fearless Fire. Jorge Torres had the riding call aboard the $26,115 earner from four starts.
