Fifty Two Special Tops Five Trials For Spring Classic Futurity at Pocatello Downs

POCATELLO, ID–MAY 3, 2025–Fifty Two Special flew from the gate under jockey Damian Correl to break his maiden at first asking on Saturday, setting the fastest qualifying time for the $20,000-est. Spring Classic Futurity at Pocatello Downs.
The 10 fastest qualifiers from five trial races contested on Saturday's card will return to the Idaho racetrack on Sunday, May 25, to vie for a share of the winner's purse going a distance of 300 yards.
Conditioned by trainer Lorenzo Marquez-Campo, Fifty Two Special completed his task in 16.006 seconds, equaling an 83 speed index, the fastest trial time of the day.
Owner Javier Olmos owns the son of champion sire The Louisiana Cartel from the Streakin La Jolla mare The Streakin Clean. Leonardo Olmos bred Fifty Two Special in Idaho.
The Louisiana Cartel sired two trial winners and two qualifiers, and the first-crop sire Cyber Monday also produced a trial winner and qualifier.
