Fastest qualifier Dressed N Blackk dug in late to win the $201,103 Mystery Futurity Sunday afternoon at Will Rogers Downs.

Ridden by Juan Pulido, Dressed N Blackk completed the 350 yards in :17.578, earning a 94 speed index. The 2-year-old gelding took the lead in the final 110 yards and held off Whiskey Doc by a nose. Why So Political finished another head back in third.

Dressed N Blackk is owned by Madison Dunn and trained by Jed Vane. Bred in Oklahoma by Dunn Ranch, he is by Desirio and out of the Corona Cocktail mare Eddie Jym. She is a full sister to champion Pj Chick In Black ($652,081), winner of the Ruidoso Futurity (G1).

The victory improved Dressed N Blackk's record to 4-2-1-0 and boosted his career earnings to $87,495.

Whiskey Doc and jockey Cody Smith crossed the wire second for owner/breeder Dusty Rose Ranch LLC and trainer Stacey Capps. The gelding took the early lead and battled gamely when challenged late, missing by a nose.

Whiskey Doc is by Docs Dusty Cartel and out of the Tac It Like A Man mare Jls Tacitlikejohn. He now has a record of 8-3-3-1 with earnings of $138,813. Still in search of his first stakes victory, he has finished second in the Speedhorse Futurity (G3) and Easy Jet Stakes (G2) and third in the Laico Bird Stakes (G3).

Why So Political and jockey Jhaciel Soto finished third for trainer Jason Olmstead. A homebred for Cavenaugh Quarter Horses LLC, the filly was a $42,000 repurchase at the Heritage Place Yearling Sale.
