Embers Time Hangs On To Win $48,110 Dash For Cash Juvenile
GRAND PRAIRIE, TX–OCTOBER 5, 2024–Embers Time, a $5,000 TQHA Yearling Sale graduate, got her third career win on Saturday by holding off Rescpt by a head in the $48,110 Dash For Cash Juvenile at Lone Star Park.
Embers Time lasted under jockey Francisco Giles as she completed the 400 yards in 19.698 seconds, a 95-speed index.
Martin Rodriguez trains the daughter of multiple stakes sire Pyc Prize Time for owner Javier Lujan. The $12,027 winner's purse boosted the filly's earnings to $44,943.
Alejandro Moya bred the bay filly in Texas from the Embrujo Fg mare Fancy Embrujos. Embers Time was third in the TQHA Sale Juvenile last July.
Runner-up Respct, ridden by jockey Mario Delgado, earned $9,622 for his second-place effort. Clinton Crawford trains the Im A Fancy Pyc colt for owner Renee K. Wilson. Second in the Speedhorse Futurity(G3) in July, Respct was bred in Oklahoma by Richard Joneson from the Takin On The Cash mare Kitty D Ville. She has earned $66,632 in only five starts.
Post-time favorite Favorite MVP finished three-quarters back to earn $7,217 for third. Toby Keeton trains the Favorite Cartel filly for owner Francisco Urteaga. Slash Z Quarter Horses bred the black filly in Texas from the Valiant Hero mare, Ms Valiant Hero. A finalist in the Sam Houston Futurity(G2) in June, she has earned $46,531.
Rockin The Train, Edelyns Pyc, Apollitical Joy, Hiclass Bonita, Nine One Won, and Apocalyptical Moon completed the field. Takillya On the Hocks was scratched.
