Electrifying Cowboy Clocks Fastest Time In The $300,000-estimated La Fiesta Futurity [G3] Trials
ALBUQUERQUE, NM–SEPTEMBER 27, 2024–On Friday, fifty-four juveniles vied for one of ten spots in the $300,000-estimated La Fiesta Futurity [G3] finals to be run on October 20th at the Downs at Albuquerque.
Electrifying Cowboy, ridden by Luis Flores-Garcia, led the field of nine in trial four of six from gate-to-wire for a 1 1/2 length victory over Cowboys N Fairytails. The son of Flying Cowboy 123 clocked a 95-speed index in 19.362 seconds against an eight mph headwind, setting the time to beat. The 400-yard effort paid $5.80 to win on 9-5 odds.
Trained by Ramon Mendoza, Electrifying Cowboy has three wins from six starts and was a finalist in the Ruidoso Futurity [G1] and West Texas Futurity [G2]. The $4,640 payday increased his earnings to $70,959 for owners Tungsten Racing Partnership and Ronald Sugamosto.

Ruse Jumpn, ridden by Christian Cardenas, broke her maiden in trial five with a wire-to-wire victory and clocked the second-fastest time of the day. The Alberto Amparan-trained filly clocked a 93-speed index in 19.440 seconds, which paid 9.20 to win on 7-2 odds.
The daughter of Jess Good Candy has one win from three starts with $9,340 in the bank. 93 Ranch owns Ruse Jumpn, and Jesus Huitron bred her in Texas out of the Eyesa Special mare Eyesa Jumpn.
