Eastern Idaho State Fair  In Blackfoot Hosts Four Non-Black Type Stakes On Saturday Race Card

BLACKFOOT, ID–SEPTEMBER 7, 2024–Eastern Idaho State Fair in Blackfoot hosted four stakes (not black type) on Saturday's race card.

EISF Overnight Derby

Bw Just A Ruger was a 1-1/2 length winner under jockey Jesus Flores in the $4,500 EISF Overnight Derby at Blackfoot Fairgrounds today.

Trainer Glen Jamison saddled the daughter of Justified to her seventh career win in 13 starts for owner Maria Baltodano. She completed the 350 yards in 17.913 seconds and earned $2,475.

Thomas Boyd and Betty Weeks bred Bw Just Ruger in Idaho from the Ettaduino mare Bw Robins Lark. It was the fourth consecutive win this year for the bay filly who won the Idaho Bred Quarter Horse Derby last Monday. She has earned nearly $30,000.

Jesse Cantbelate was second, and Mz Paquita finished third.

EISF Overnight Futurity-Div 1

M E Mitzy, a daughter of the Eclipse Award 2019 Champion Male Sprinter Mitole (TB) was a head winner in the $4,500 EISF Overnight Futurity-Division 1 on Saturday at Blackfoot.

Jockey Eric Ayla rode the bay filly over the 300-yard course in 15.648 seconds, equaling a 94-speed index into a 5 mph crosswind. M E Mitzy won the Roche Equine Veterinary Services Futurity in June and earned $2,475, boosting her bankroll to $19,263.

Jarrett Mills trains M E Mitzy for owner-breeder Dave Merritt. A winner of three of seven starts, the filly is out of M E Five Bar Filly by Five Bar Cartel.

Sheknowsshepunky finished second, and Dash O Flash took third.

EISF Overnight Futurity-Div 2

Sheknowsshesmokn was a half-length winner in Division 2 of Blackfoot's $4,500 EISF Overnight Futurity today.

Under jockey Jesus Flores, the daughter of Daguerre, clocked 15.483 seconds to earn a 101-speed index into a 5 mph crosswind. Trainer Glen Jamison saddled the filly to her third win in nine starts. The $3,475 winner's purse increased her earnings to $16,799.

Sheknowsshesmokn, out of the Jumpn mare Smokn Mirrors, races for owner-breeder Edward Jamison.

Jkh No Change Needed was second, and Leo Dash was third.

Idaho Bred Quarter Horse Maturity

Smokin Lil Wagon posted a head win in the $7,500 Idaho Bred Quarter Horse Maturity on Saturday in Blackfoot.

Under jockey Jesus Flores, Smokin Lil Wagon completed the 350 yards in 17.683 seconds, a 103-speed index into a 5 mph crosswind.

Trainer Glen Jamison saddled the Lil Kool Wagon filly to her seventh career win in 17 starts for himself and co-owner Jill Jamison. John McBride bred Smokin Lil Wagon from the Jumpn Smokn Mirrors. She has earned $27,710.

Streakin Wes finished second, with Shes A Lethal One taking third.
