Dressed N Blackk Tops OQHRA Mystery Futurity Trials at Will Rogers Downs

Dressed N Blackk turned in the fastest qualifying time from eight trials for the $75,000 OQHRA Mystery Futurity (RG2) on Monday at Will Rogers Downs.
Ridden by Juan Pulido for trainer Jed Vane, Dressed N Blackk won the sixth trial in :17.521 for 350 yards, defeating fellow qualifier Daylynn by a neck. The gelding dueled before digging in late to secure the victory.
Owned by Madison Dunn and bred by Dunn Ranch, Dressed N Blackk is by Desirio and out of the Corona Cocktail mare Eddie Jym. The victory marked his first win in three starts and increased his earnings to $6,553.
Daylynn finished a neck behind Dressed N Blackk to post the second-fastest qualifying time of :17.567. Ryder Olmstead rode the filly for owner Tom Maher and trainer Jason Olmstead.
Bred by William Smith, Daylynn is a $42,000 Heritage Place Yearling Sale graduate by champion sire Flying Cowboy 123 and out of the Corona Cartel mare Itea. Coming off a fifth-place finish in the Northlands Futurity, she has compiled a record of 6-2-1-0 with earnings of $18,614.
Red Sticky Candy recorded the third-fastest qualifying time earlier on the card, winning the second trial in :17.573 by 1 1/4 lengths. Ramiro Haro Garcia was aboard the Jason Olmstead trainee, who took command midway through the race and edged away late.
A homebred for Brenda Reiswig, Red Sticky Candy is by Jess Good Candy and out of the Valiant Hero mare Red Velvet Hero. The filly improved her record to 4-1-1-1 and has earned $11,038.
The $75,000 OQHRA Mystery Futurity (RG2) final is scheduled for September 28 at Will Rogers Downs.
