Forty-eight Mexico-bred 2-year-olds competed in seven heats on Sunday at Hipódromo de las Américas for the October 18 final, which carries an estimated purse of $136,811. The next 10 fastest qualifiers received preferred invitations to the consolation.

Dk Kiss My Danny gave Cuadra La Presita the fastest qualifier for the Futurity Desafío Crianza Mexicana (RG3), winning his 350-yard trial by 2 ½ lengths in :17.591. The gelding earned an 86 speed index in the third trial and picked up his second career victory.

His first win came in the Garañones Futurity trials; he later finished third in the final. Dk Kiss My Danny has two wins and two thirds from four starts, with approximately $21,000 in earnings. Cuadra La Presita bred and owns the gelding by Danny Cartel and out of Kiss My Crystals, by Kiss My Hocks. Luis Enrique Cruz Solis trains the gelding, while José Angel Ambrosio had the mount.

Peligrosita Eagle, already a Subasta Selecta Futurity winner, put herself in the final with a wire-to-wire performance in the fourth trial. She finished 1 ¼ lengths in front in :17.613, clocking the second-fastest time of the evening.

Trained by Jose Baltazar Aguilar, the filly by Mr Eagle Master has won three of eight starts and earned more than $101,000. Her season also includes finalist appearances in the Futurity Garanones and Futurity Mexico Consolation.

Abelardo Gallegos Fernandez bred Peligrosita Eagle out of Peligrosita, a daughter of Walk Thru Fire. With Jose Manuel Cisneros in the saddle, she delivered another trial win for owner Rancho M Gonzalez.

Dk Francia brought familiar form into the fifth heat. She took over at first call and pulled away by 1 ¾ lengths to win her trial race, stopping the clock in :17.620 for the third-fastest qualifying time.

She had finished second to Peligrosita Eagle in the Subasta Selecta Futurity and was also a Futurity Garanones finalist. Dk Francia has compiled two wins and three seconds from six starts, with approximately $47,000 in earnings.

The Cuadra La Presita homebred is a daughter of Danny Cartel, out of After Hours Affair by Mr Jess Perry. Cruz Solis trains Dk Francia, and Ambrosio returned to ride her in Sunday’s trial.

Dk Seis Nueve Tops Consolation Qualifiers

Cuadra La Presita also claimed the top spot on the preferred invitation list for the Futurity Desafío Crianza Mexicana Consolation. Dk Seis Nueve won the seventh and final trial in :17.903, placing him 11th overall and first among the consolation qualifiers.

Dk Seis Nueve came into Sunday’s trials off a fifth-place finish in the Subasta Selecta Futurity. His record now stands at two wins, one second, and one third from five starts, with approximately $20,000 in earnings.

Bred and owned by Cuadra La Presita, he is by Bullish One out of Ladie Dany, by Danny Cartel. Hernan Missael Romo Anaya trains the gelding, and Mario Alberto Lopez Marmolejo rode him to the trial victory.
