Cuz Eyema Cowboy Baby Adds Henry Bowlan Memorial To Stakes Record

Cuz Eyema Cowboy Baby added another stakes victory to his record Sunday afternoon, winning the $15,800 Henry Bowlan Memorial at Will Rogers Downs.

The 3-year-old Paint gelding broke sharply under Roman Cruz and immediately took command of the 300-yard contest. The 3-5 favorite maintained his advantage through the finish, stopping the clock in :15.391 and defeating Queen For Cash by three-quarters of a length.

Cuz Eyema Cowboy Baby is a homebred for Gary and Charity Hensley and is trained by Jesus Ruiz. The Oklahoma-bred son of Flying Cowboy 123 is out of the CRM Livewire mare Cuz Eyema Livewire.

The victory improved his record to 15-7-5-1, and the $9,334 winner's share of the purse boosted his earnings to $113,440. Earlier this season, Cuz Eyema Cowboy Baby won the Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Stakes (G1) and Masterpiece Derby and finished second in the OKB Paul Harber Memorial (G2).

Queen For Cash ApHC rallied to finish second under Mario Delgado. After racing third early, the 8-year-old mare made her bid in the final 110 yards and edged Set On Cruise by a nose for the runner-up spot.

Owned and bred by Gary Vaughan and trained by Jesus Ruiz, Queen For Cash is by Hes Relentless and out of the Ivory James mare Ivory Queen. She now owns a record of 49-18-6-7, including 12 stakes victories, with earnings of $247,343.

Set On Cruise APHA finished third under Cody Smith for owner Kaye Jones and trainer Matt Whitekiller. The 3-year-old filly vied along the inside before being outkicked for second late.

Bred by Dan and Kaye Jones, Set On Cruise is by CRM Livewire and out of the Second Painted Sign mare Lindys Sign. She has compiled a record of 12-4-2-1 with earnings of $80,681. Her stakes résumé includes victories in the Texas Hero Futurity (G1) and Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Juvenile, along with a runner-up finish in the Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Stakes (G1).

Valiant Anthem ApHC, Gigis Gucci Glasses APHA and River Flower APHA completed the order of finish.
