ALTOONA, IA–JULY 6, 2024–It was a tight finish at the wire, but Ct Walking Thru dug in for the win in the $213,400 Prairie Meadows Gold Futurity on Saturday.

Berkley Packer returned for the mount in the finals aboard Ct Walking Thru after qualifying him with the fastest qualifying time in the trials. The son of leading sire Favorite Cartel got the jump on Flying Bandida at the wire by a neck, clocking an 88 speed index in :17.761 seconds. His 350-yard victory paid $7.20 to win on 5/2 odds.

Flying Bandida, ridden by Francisco Ramirez Jr, went off at 40/1 odds, and the payout for place was $30.40 on a $2.00 wager. Anna Belle, piloted by Jorge Torres, was only a head behind for third, which paid $5.60 to show.

The $96,030 winner's share of the purse increased Ct Walking Thru's earnings to $100,380, and she remains undefeated from two starts. Trainer Alex Wessels saddled the bay filly out of Jess Walking Thru for owner Paul Tonderum. Gary and Linda Gordon bred the $58,000 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale graduate in Texas.

Runner-up Flying Bandida just broke her maiden in the trials. Trained by Jason Olmstead, the daughter of leading second-year sire Flying Cowboy 123 has $49,339 from four starts. Breeder Shari Burger owns the gray filly out of Meaningful Memories by Pyc Paint Your Wagon in partnership with Vickie McBee.

Anna Belle placed by a neck over third over post-time favorite Relentless American. The daughter of leading first-year sire Uncle D has lit the board in every out from five starts with two career wins and $78,871 in earnings, including the FL Lady Bug Stakes [G3] at Remington Park.

Breeder Bollenbach Farms sold Anna Belle to her owners, Tom and Lou Ann Smith, for $22,000 in the Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale. The Jason Olmstead trained filly is out of Maghelene by One Famous Eagle.

Relentless American, Valiant Candy Tree, Relentless Purrsuit, Rainbow Of Diamonds, Eyesa Wagon My Tale, I Know You Know and Lomax complete the field.
