GRAND PRAIRIE, TX—November 7, 2026

Chile Gato overcame a stumbling start to deliver a three-quarter-length victory in Saturday night's $93,180 Texas Hero Futurity (G1) at Lone Star Park, leading a remarkable sweep of the top three finishing positions by offspring of Chilitos.

The heavily favored Chile Gato, sent off at odds of 2-5, quickly recovered from his awkward break, established command, and held his advantage through the finish under champion jockey Francisco Calderon. The sorrel colt completed the 400 yards in 19.844 seconds, earning a speed index of 89, over a fast racing surface with a 3-mph crosswind.

The victory was worth $35,409 and added another Grade 1 stakes performance to an already impressive freshman campaign that includes a third-place finish in the prestigious All American Futurity (G1).

Competing in both Quarter Horse and Paint/Appaloosa races during his 2-year-old season, Chile Gato has now compiled a combined record of three wins and one third from five starts, with lifetime earnings of $299,974.

The colt's Quarter Horse record includes one victory and a third-place finish from two starts, earning $260,800. In Paint/Appaloosa competition, Chile Gato has won twice from three starts, banking $39,174, including Saturday's Texas Hero Futurity championship.

Bred and owned by Omar Paredes of Texas, Chile Gato is trained by Jed H. Vane. The 2-year-old colt is by Chilitos out of Famous Phoebe, a daughter of Dash Ta Fame.

His latest triumph further establishes Chile Gato as one of the more accomplished juveniles competing across both Quarter Horse and Paint/Appaloosa racing in 2026.

Jvm Hot Victoria, another daughter of Chilitos, overcame a troubled beginning to finish second, a head in front of Miss Chilitos. The filly broke outward and encountered contact leaving the gate before recovering to secure the runner-up position.

Ridden by Rosendo E. Pina Garcia for trainer Wendy Alejandra Garcia, Jvm Hot Victoria earned $15,841 for owner Juan Luis Leon, who also bred the filly. She is out of Victoria Camila, by Gol to Go.

Jvm Hot Victoria was a $7,500 repurchase at the 2025 TQHA Yearling Sale. She previously captured the Colors of the Alamo Paint and Appaloosa Futurity (G3) and now owns five victories and two runner-up finishes from eight career starts. Saturday's earnings increased her lifetime bankroll to $75,385.

Miss Chilitos completed the Chilitos trifecta, finishing another three-quarters of a length ahead of fourth-place Flyindwntheturnpike. The filly raced prominently throughout but could not match the winner's finishing effort.

Oliver E. Martinez rode Miss Chilitos for trainer Oscar Nunez and owner Edgar Rivera Hernandez. Bred by Connie Nobles, the 2-year-old daughter of Chilitos is out of Tahiti Evening, by Stoli.

A $13,500 purchase at the 2025 TQHA Yearling Sale, Miss Chilitos earned $10,250 for her third-place finish, increasing her combined career earnings to $77,278 from 11 starts in Quarter Horse and Paint/Appaloosa competition.

Miss Chilitos has compiled four victories, one second, and three thirds across both racing categories. Her Quarter Horse record includes one win and one third from five starts, with earnings of $29,952. She was also a finalist in the prestigious TQHA Sale Futurity (G1).

In Paint/Appaloosa competition, Miss Chilitos has recorded three victories, one second, and two thirds from six starts, earning $47,326. She previously captured the G.C.F.A. Paint and Appaloosa Juvenile Stakes at Gillespie County Fairground.

The one-two-three finish provided another significant achievement for Chilitos, whose offspring dominated the $93,180 championship. All three graded stakes placings went to daughters or sons of the stallion, with Chile Gato adding another Grade 1 performance to his sire's growing list of accomplishments.

The success of Chile Gato and Miss Chilitos in both Quarter Horse and Paint/Appaloosa competition further underscores the versatility of Chilitos as a sire. Both juveniles have competed at the Grade 1 level in Quarter Horse racing, with Chile Gato placing third in the All American Futurity and Miss Chilitos qualifying for the TQHA Sale Futurity.

The Texas Hero Futurity attracted a field of 10 juveniles, with Chile Gato collecting the winner's share of the guaranteed purse.

Flyindwntheturnpike finished fourth, followed by Muy Piscosita Eg, Mw Bcause Im Alive, My Navajo Squaw, Chilinator, Cholula H, and This Cowboys an Eagle.
