Bw Just A Ruger Scores Oneida County Mixed Breed Derby Win

MALAD, CITY, ID–AUGUST 11, 2024–Bw Just A Ruger flew late for the win in Sunday's $15,000 Oneida County Mixed Breed Derby at the Oneida County Fairground.

Ridden by jockey Jesus Flores, Bw Just A Ruger completed the 300 yards in 15.389 seconds, equaling a 101 speed index. Trainer Glen T. Jamison saddled the daughter of Justified to her fourth career win for owner Maria Baltodano.

Thomas Boyd and Betty Weeks bred Bw Just A Ruger in Idaho from the Ettaduino mare Bw Robins Lark. The $6,000 winner's purse brings Bw Just A Ruger's earnings total to $18,825.

Bnb Hasta La Luna just missed under jockey Jose Espinoza to earn $3,600 for second. Ricardo Castillo trains the Moonin The Eagle filly for owner Rainee Browning. Bobby D. Cox bred the gray filly in Utah from the Brimmerton mare Hasta La Veesta. She has earned $20,577 in 13 starts.

Five Livestock Company LLC's Idaho homebred Seperate Kisses finished three-quarters back to earn $2,250 for third. Martin Vega trains the multiple stakes-winning Separatist filly out of Kiss A Kardashian by Jr Dynasty Mountain. The $2,250 payday boosted her bankroll to $25,011. Oscar Villa had the riding assignment.

Dr B, Mz Paquita, Chianti, Lil Miss Coronado, and Makin Chicks Move completed the field.
