Bg Winning Legacy Dominates Rocky Mountain Classic Paint & Appaloosa Futurity Trials

MALAD, CITY, ID–JULY 27, 2024–Harvest Cup Paint and Appaloosa Futurity runner-up Bg Winning Legacy returned to the win column today after a dominating four-length victory, setting the fastest time for the Rocky Mountain Classic Paint & Appaloosa Futurity at the Onedia County Fairground.

The eight fastest qualifiers will return to the Idaho racetrack on Saturday, August 3, to vie for the winner's share of a $7,500-added purse going 300 yards.

Bg Winning Legacy was a gate-to-wire winner under jockey Raphael Romero. He completed the 300 yards in 16.019 seconds into a 6 mph crosswind. It was the second win in three starts for the Appaloosa son of the Quarter Horse stallion Winners Version.

Darric Grant conditions the gelding for owner Bryan Grant. Becky Grant bred the $7,750 earner in Idaho from the Geneo JJ mare CMB A Final Legacy. Bg Winning Legacy finished a neck of Bg Vroom Vroom Broom in the June 16 Harvest Cup Paint and Appaloosa Futurity at Jerome.

Harvest Cup Paint and Appaloosa Futurity winner Bg Vroom Vroom Broom was a three-quarter-length winner in the second trial, achieving the second-fastest time of 16.617 seconds in a 5 mph crosswind. The daughter of champion Quarter Horse sire The Louisiana Cartel has a (3) 2-1-0 record and has banked $6,450.

Jockey Raphael Romero must now choose which stablemate he wants to ride back for owner-trainer Bryan Grant in the final. Becky Grant bred the Appaloosa filly in Idaho from the Takin The Cash mare Brooms Cash.
