Be Capricho Remains Undefeated And Sets The Time To Beat In Oneida County Fair Futurity Trials.

MALAD CITY, ID–JULY 27, 2024–Three trials were held on Saturday for the $15,000 added Oneida County Fair Futurity. Be Capricho set the time to beat after winning the second trial. The finals will be run on Sunday, August 11th.

Jockey Jose Espinoza led Be Capricho to a wire-to-wire victory in :15.602, clocking a 93 speed index over Sheknowsshesmokn. The post-time favorite's 300-yard effort paid $4.80 to win.

Be Capricho has yet to be defeated in three starts, including a victory in the Pocatello Downs Spring Classic Futurity Consolation. The son of Daguerre has earned $7,230 for owner-breeder Benedito Estrada of Nevada. The Ricardo Castillo-trained gelding is out of Kro Painted Chick by Wagons West.

Rj Spicer won the third trial with Never Marin in the irons. The post-time favorite clocked a 93 speed index in 15.607 seconds, which paid $2.60 for the win.

The son of Louisiana Cartel has won two of three starts and placed fifth in the Hadley/Giles Futurity at Weber Downs in May. Trained by Kylie Valenzuela, Rj Spicer has earned $7,359 for owner Jose Rico. William Nolan bred the brown gelding in Utah out of Fearless Fire by Walk Thru Fire.
