SHELBYVILLE, IN—October 22, 2026
Horseshoe Indianapolis Racing & Casino will adjust with the upcoming time change effective Wednesday, October 28. Regular racing programs will move to a 1:30 p.m. post time, a change from the traditional 2:10 p.m. post time.
“With the time change and shorter windows for daylight, we have decided to fine tune our racing program with a slightly earlier start of 1:30 p.m. for the remainder of the season,” said Eric Halstrom, Vice President and General Manager of Racing. “This will allow more racing opportunities for our horsemen and women, especially on the turf course as the days grow shorter.”
The only program that will not be affected by the change is on Friday, October 30. Live racing will remain at 10:45 a.m. to coincide with the first day of Breeders’ Cup action from Keeneland.
The 24th season of live Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse extends through Friday, November 13. Indiana’s top Thoroughbreds and Quarter Horses will be featured Saturday, October 24 during the seventh annual Indiana Champions Day.
