Oklahoma Update
OKLAHOMA CITY, OK–JANUARY 22, 2025–The Oklahoma Quarter Horse Racing Association (OQHRA) issued several updates for horsemen and women who plan to participate in Oklahoma racing, stallion auction and OQHRA membership this year.
JOCK MOUNT INCREASE - IMPORTANT UPDATE!
The Oklahoma Horse Racing Commission, with strong support from OQHRA, has amended the rule to increase the base jockey mount fee from $75 to $115. This adjustment brings Oklahoma in line with other racing jurisdictions across the country, and by ensuring fair compensation, will help to enhance the quality of racing in the state. The new scale is available online at OHRC.ok.gov.

OKLAHOMA BRED/JOCKEY AGREEMENT
In previous years it was customary for the Remington Park Bookkeeper to automatically deduct the owner’s account an additional payment to jockeys based on the Oklahoma Bred Purse Supplement earned.
They now require each owner to “Opt-In” for that deduction. Each owner that wishes to pay their jockey based on the additional purse supplement must complete a form and submit it to the bookkeeper BEFORE the running of the race in which they have an eligible Oklahoma Bred horse. This form will authorize the deduction of the owner’s earnings for payment to the jockeys.
Owners can conveniently complete this online form, and upon submission, a copy will be forwarded directly to the track's bookkeeper. If you would prefer a hard copy, you can obtain one from the horsemen’s bookkeeper.
To submit the form electronically, please follow the link:OKB Funds Agreement.
