Lone Star Park Stakes Nominations Close Friday for Refrigerator Championship, Ochoa Stakes

Horsemen are reminded that nominations for two upcoming Quarter Horse stakes at Lone Star Park, including the Grade 1 Refrigerator Championship and the Ochoa Stakes, will close Friday, November 6. Both races will be contested during the track's final weekend of the 2026 Quarter Horse racing season.

The $100,000-added Refrigerator Championship (G1), scheduled for Saturday, November 21, is open to horses 3 years old and upward competing at 440 yards. The prestigious championship event is one of the featured races on Lone Star Park's fall Quarter Horse stakes calendar.

The $30,000-guaranteed Ochoa Stakes, scheduled for Friday, November 20, is restricted to Texas-bred 2-year-olds and will be contested at 350 yards. The race provides another stakes opportunity for young Texas-bred runners as the season approaches its conclusion.

There is no nomination fee for either stakes race.

Horsemen wishing to nominate may contact the Lone Star Park racing office by telephone at (972) 237-1130, email racing@lonestarpark.com, or text (972) 415-7093.

Additional information is available in the horsemen's information section of the Lone Star Park website. Horsemen may also contact the racing office at (888) 4-RACING with questions regarding nominations or eligibility.
